Linda Kortesoja Klenczar is a pastel artist with an interest also in watercolor, graphite and ink. After 40 years as an interior designer, Linda’s art often contains some structural forms, whether buildings or other architectural elements.
I have studied with some wonderful pastelists from across the country, including Gil Dellinger, Jim Markel, Alan Flattmann, Margot Schulzke, Marla Baggetta, and Sally Strand. I also admire the masters of centuries gone by such as Degas, but also current artists like Wolf Kahn, Elizabeth Mowry. The textures and the expression of the moment in each of the paintings by these artist, inspires me to keep working at this medium. Learning from other artists to improve technique, and composition and seeing the light and subject, is a challenge each and every day.
Plein air painting makes for the best of all days, with the opportunity to feel the sun on my face or the cool shadows of clouds, to hear the birds, insects and other animals, and to feel and hear the breezes in the trees and fields and the rush of water in the rivers and streams. A day of painting soothes the soul.
